Brockton, Ontario

The Municipality of Brockton in Bruce County, Ontario was formed on January 1, 1999. As of 2001, the population was 9,658. The area was 565.07 square kilometres.
It includes the former township of Brant, former township of Greenock and the community of Walkerton. Brockton's name was formed as an acronym of the three merged municipalities (Brant Greenock Walkerton).
Note to be confused with Brockton Village a neighbourhood and former municipal village located in the west end of Toronto.
The community of Walkerton had a Homecoming June 27th - July 3rd, 2006 and was a successful event for the area.
