[edit] Image Tagging Image:Artwork.gif

Warning sign
This image may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Artwork.gif. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. SCEhardT 18:24, 29 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] stopping the Insect article vandal(s)

Just so you know - despite your warning (and the warnings of two other people today and otehrs yesterday) our friends at 204.108.250.222 continue to vandalize the article. If you know how to implement a block, I suggest you do so. Peace, Dyanega 20:36, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Globalization

I'm frankly quite puzzled as to how removing "HELL" from the middle of a sentence amounts to vandalism. Maybe you could clear that up for me.

[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:AVCD-31146.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:AVCD-31146.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 06:30, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image source problem with Image:Cat3good.jpg

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Cat3good.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 03:28, 2 January 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshellsOtter chirps) 03:28, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Critique of Judgment on Wikisource

I originated a new subcategory to the Philosophy category on Wikisource called Aesthetics and noticed someone (which turned out to be you) had started up The Critique of Judgement, and I wanted to place it in that category as well. Except that it was named "Critique of Judgment". I'm not a spelling patroller, but in this case, all throughout the translation you used, the translator spelled it "Judgement". Anyway, for the sake of consistency, I was going to move the page to "The Critique of Judgement" and make a redirect at "Critique of Judgment" so you would be able to find it in case you wanted to return to it. But then I learned redirects get deleted after a month. So I thought I'd write you here to let you know where to find it in case you suddenly discovered it missing.

You seem to have left the entry of the work in the middle, so I finished up some things you hadn't completed which sits right now at a third page:s:Critique of Judgement (without the "The"). I intend to move your "Critique of Judgment" to "The Critique of Judgement" in the next two weeks and then update it with the material from s:Critique of Judgement, so if you want to add your input to the changes, please do so at one of the work talk pages or on my Wikisource talk page.

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Popjustice cd.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Popjustice cd.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 12:26, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:AVCD-31145 B.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:AVCD-31145 B.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --21:18, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Aozora Bank.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:Aozora Bank.gif. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 05:51, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
