[edit] Nice
What lovely images you've been adding!! They're fascinating and there are many I've never even seen before. Thank you! (I especially like the galileo image, looks like that engineer to the left just screwed something up and is smakcing himself in the head! or it could be he's just adjusting his haircap ...:o))--Deglr6328 05:02, 10 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- Thank you for your comment:-)! Added much more images to Commons, they are now waiting to be used (I use them mostly for the german wikipedia, but many are still unused). I like the Galileo image too, although I didn't see the "funny" engineer as I uploaded it :-). But my personal favorits of "my" images are for example Image:Aerogelbrick.jpg (unused on en.wiki) or Image:Twin Linear Aerospike XRS-2200 Engine.jpg. Regards --Bricktop 06:32, 10 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- Yes the aerospike photo is well... stunning. It's a tragic shame the project was cancelled. If you submit that image to Wikipedia:Featured picture candidates it WILL become a POTD. --Deglr6328 08:00, 10 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- Nice idea! I'll try it. If I remember right, aerospike engines tests go on, although they recieve much less money as at X-33 time. I hope they will sometime produce a working engine for a working rocket --Bricktop 10:16, 10 Apr 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:Featured picture candidates/First Photograph
I just got a high-res version, and the image is public domain. Please support the high-res version. --brian0918™ 17:05, 12 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- Already supported low-res version, because of its historical value and also some WOW-factor. Of course the high-res is much better, please put it on commons, so other wikis can use it too --Bricktop 17:20, 12 Apr 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Pic of the Day
Hi Bricktop,
Just to let you know that the Image:Voyager 1 entering heliosheath region.jpg that you uploaded, is due up as Pic of the Day on Sunday. As this will be a weekend, it will also be shown on the Main Page. You can review and improve the associated caption at Wikipedia:Picture of the day/August 21, 2005. In fact, I'm try to find someone who is reasonably knowledgable on the subject to check the caption, as for this one I had to draw on elements from a number of different pages, so there is a fair chance I've got something wrong. -- Solipsist 11:59, 19 August 2005 (UTC)
- Hi! I've read your current caption for this pic and found no errors (but I'm not a professional in this case). Some things I maybe would change are At some distance well beyond the orbit of Pluto, this supersonic wind must slow down to meet the gases in the interstellar medium, producing several shock boundaries to At some not exactly known distance far beyond the orbit of Pluto, this supersonic wind slows down to meet the gases in the interstellar medium, producing several shock boundaries. --Bricktop 12:25, 19 August 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks. -- Solipsist 12:57, 19 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Babel
Be welcome on hungarian Wikipedia! I can put on at your hungarian user page the babel codes then other editors will know your prefered languages. Or make your own, by finded wikicodes on http://hu.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikip%C3%A9dia:B%C3%A1bel . --Aranymalinko 06:35, 2 September 2005 (UTC) (as known Rodrigo on hungarian wiki)
- Hi, I just put some babel codes on my hungarian page. Now should everybody be able to see that I don't speak hungarian :-). Greetings --Bricktop 07:07, 2 September 2005 (UTC)
Why good the babel categories? You can see, in hungarian Wikipedia have a few German, like hu:User:AlphaCentauri, and some talker: Diese Benutzer sprechen Deutsch..

[edit] Luna X
Nice job - the links cleaned up along with the reinstated redirect. To confirm: Luna X was the product of my idle lunchbreak, not Soviet scientists. The images were meant to make that obvious but once they were removed and the rest left, there's a danger that the remaining material becomes accepted as fact. I just took a look back at it today to flag up on the discussion page that the entry is a spoof but it's no longer necessary. Thanks for cleaning up properly after me. 195.157.197.108 10:42, 15 September 2005 (UTC)
- As I can see you had a funny lunch break :-). But why not write something useable if you already have time? And I also had to spend some of my time to clean up after you (Wikipedia was really slow at that moment). --Bricktop 11:58, 15 September 2005 (UTC)
-
- Apologies for your wasted time. My wrists are smacked and I am chastened. I regularly do write useful, usable things here but on this occasion the devil made work for idle hands. It seemed relatively harmless and an obvious spoof in the context of the pictures. What amazed me was the sloppiness of the earlier cleanup (not yours) - it would probably have gone unnoticed if I hadn't checked back. If we are being picky, you didn't have to clean up after me but rather chose to. Thanks for what you did. 195.157.197.108 12:24, 21 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Featured Picture
Hi. I notice you uploaded the high res version of Image:Challenger explosion.jpg. That image has just become a Featured Picture! Thanks for uploading it. Raven4x4x 08:14, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Mars Science and Telcommunications Orbiter
I've read about your website you gave me about the Mars Science and Telcommunications Orbiter, I read it and it seems very clear about the upcoming mission, but are you sure that the website is known at NASA cause if NASA dosen't mention anything about MSTO, then that website could be an unofficial one since it is either a private non-governmental mission or a commerical spacecraft. Well I'm not saying that you are still wrong, but I just want to know it NASA is assoicated with the whole concept. Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody 19 June 2006
- I can understand that you are having doubts about this website. Here is a NASA document for you [1] (2.9MB) ;-). More readings about upcoming Mars exloration at [2]. --Bricktop 00:34, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] thanks!
Good work on uploading all those NASA photos.. they really make a difference to the articles! So I'm awarding you with the photographer's barnstar! (even though you may not have taken the photos yourself ;) ) Mlm42 10:32, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks! :) --Bricktop 11:30, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Wikipedia -> Commons
Hey Bricktop, a long time ago (when I first started editing Wikipedia) you moved an image I had uploaded from Wikipedia to Commons. I have a few other images in Wikipedia that I'd like to send over to Commons, but what's the best way to do this? Did you suggest creating the image page at Commons first and then request for the Wikipedia page to be deleted? Or is there some type of Transwiki process? I'd appreciate any tips you have. Danke!--Will.i.am 00:53, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
- Hi Will! I indeed suggest creating an image page on Commons (resp. simply uploading the image there) and then tagging the corresponding image in the wikipedia with {{NowCommons|Image:name_in_commons.jpg}}. If you use the same name for the image in Commons as here in the wikipedia, you can tag it with {{NowCommonsThis}} (or simply {{NCT}}) instead. These tags should normally lead to the deletion of the now redundant image by an admin. --Bricktop 13:12, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
