[edit] Welcome

Hi, Klaus, welcome to Wikipedia. You might want to review Wikipedia:User page. Please don't use Wikipedia as a blog. I guess it's ok to post the previous stuff on your User page, but please don't continue it here. User:Zoe|(talk) 22:33, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

You're welcome. I hope you like it here. You can sign your comments on Talk pages with four tildes - ~~~~

[edit] Page move

Hi Klaus269, you recently moved Harry Potter (character) to Harry James Potter (character). The page was moved back because the former is the more accessible article title. More people will search for "Harry Potter" than "Harry James Potter," and then to distinguish it from the series, which would be more common than the character, we add the parenthetical (character). You might want to see WP:COMMONNAME. See you around! Best, Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 00:14, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Attacks and inappropriate language

I've removed some language of yours over at Talk:Family Guy#Meg's biological father. While wikipedia is not censored when it comes to article content, we do have certain standards of decorum when it comes to talk pages and interactions with your fellow editors. You may wish to consult WP:CIVIL and WP:NPA if it would help you come to an understanding of the protocol around the wiki. Thanks much. -Mask? 23:09, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Family Guy Disscusions

This is a place where you can speak your minds about Family Guy hot-topics on Wikipedia (Brian a racist, Meg's real father, ect.) I will put up places for the two arguments, Please enjoy. --BrianGriffin-FG 18:01, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

BGFG: These topics may be hotter for you than for anyone else, but it will be interesting to see if you can maintain NPOV in these discussions. I've added mu options to your debate questions because I don't think they necessarily have Boolean answers. / edgarde 18:52, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Meg's biological father

Ok, this is the disscusion that got me in hot water (see Attacks and inappropriate language). I said "F**CK YOU!!! Dian?" which was ment to be taken a quote-joke (that's is what Peter said in the movie) but I have a mean sence of humor whitch I mostly dirrectly at myselve. This is an open disscution with which anyone can take part in. Enjoy.--BrianGriffin-FG

[edit] Stan Thompson is the Father

Okay this is the side I'm on. This is what I wrote on Talk:Family Guy#Meg's biological father (I edited some of it for this disscusion). I don't see a problem with [the idea of Peter not being the father]. I think that any cutaways that happen in Family Guy should be taken serously, unless it's somthing really really really really outragious like the "Great Space Coaster" joke in "I Take Thea Quagmire". An example of this is in Da Boom when Peter tells a guy in a chicken costume that he doesn't take coupons from chickens after "what happen last time" an it goes into a flashback to Peter getting into a fight with a giant chicken over an expired coupon. Many fans probably dismissed that as a throw-away gag, I did and I was 8 or 9 when I saw it, but in Blind Ambition, the giant chicken attacks Peter out of nowhere and they have yet another huge fight in the present insted of in a flash back. AND he and Peter are fighting in Family Guy Video Game!, AND he comes back and fights Peter in No Chris Left Behind [and he is seen in "Meet the Quagmires]. If Chris has an evil monkey in his closet (that to was only going to be a throw-away gag) and Peter keeps getting into a fight with a giant chicken, I think that Meg might not [being] Peter's daughter [is in the relm of reality]. By the way, when [Sherwelthlangley says] "there was a cutaway scene in one of the early episodes where it flashes back to the day of Meg's birth when Peter shows disappointment at the doctor's remark: 'It's a girl!'", Lois could have told Peter that she was pregnant and Peter could have thought it was his. AND Lois might have told Peter years after Meg was born that Meg wasn't his daughter and that it happened so long ago that he diddn't care. Chris "finds out" in Screwed the Pouch while Meg is happily listening to her walkmen, not listening, and, if it wasn't just one of his idiotic comments, Chris tells Meg "My dad's smarter than your dad (Stan Thompson)!" Meg says "We have the same dad morron" meaning that she still doesn't know about Stan Thompson. As Stewie would say, "Well, that's my arguement, where's your's?"--BrianGriffin-FG 18:26, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Peter Griffin Is The Father

[edit] Family Guy should not be taken seriously

It's a gag from two seasons ago; the other shoe would have dropped by now. Obsessions notwithstanding, nothing hints of a planned multi-year story arc that will resolve this gag against the show's continuity, or contradict the status quo that Peter Griffin is Meg's father.

If the writers choose to revive Stan Thompson's paternity as a story element, then it changes, but expressing a conviction this will happen is like expressing a conviction that Brian will wear a hat in the next episode. / edgarde 18:52, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Brian's Racism

This is an open disscution with which anyone can take part in. Enjoy.--BrianGriffin-FG

[edit] Racist

Demonstrated in at least two episodes (I've not seen every) so this is established. The humor here is that Brian is embarrassed by his racism. / edgarde 18:52, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Not a Racist

Okay this is the side I'm on. This is what I wrote on Talk:Brian Griffin#Racist?. There is no way in hell that he is a racist. When he was a pup, his dad acted racist around him, and his subconcise (sorry about the spelling) thought that that's how he was suposed to act. When he grew-up, he learned not to do that, but it's still in his subconsice and it leaks out every once in a while. The same thing happens to Lois with her Pewterschmidt up-bringing. In "The Perfect Castaway", Lois says to the weeping Chris at Peter's funeral, "I know honey, I'm sad to, but come-down, you're making a scean, all our friends are here," (sounds like somthing her dad would say, huh) and in "Jungle Love", after Chris says "This is my wife Loca. We're mairred", Lois responds by saying, "Well, maybe here, but not in America where God pays atention." I belive the only differince is that Brian is 100% aware of his problem and is trying despretly to change it, while Lois has no clue of her little problem (although she has comsideritly more conroil over it). As Stewie would say, "Well, that was my arguement, where's your's."--BrianGriffin-FG 18:59, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

Racism that contradicts one's stated principals or one's image of oneself is still rascism. Blaming others (family, upbringing in general, bad experiences with people of other ethnicities, whatever) for one's racism does not make one not a racist. Actions speak louder than words. And so forth.
Example
My grandfather used to make racist remarks. My mother would defend him after the fact on the grounds he was someone who didn't know that was impolite. My father (his son, and a lifelong Republican who used the word "colored" until at least 1980) wouldn't go along with that, and politely gave his dad examples from his own experience that contradicted what his father was saying about African-americans.
My father grew up in an environment that (by the above excuse for Brian Griffin) would make him a racist, but he wasn't. I don't think anyone ever taught him explictly not to be one — his Korean War service in the Navy might have been an influence — and racist beliefs would have fit in fine with his adult peers. He wasn't by any means a man ruled by rationality. But he never made a comment that I would now consider racist, and although he was a quiet type not prone to polemics, he wouldn't let rascism go uncontradicted.
Brian is the converse: a cultural progressive who is racist.
My mom would have defended Brian Griffin with an argument similar to the above. / edgarde 18:52, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Family Guy shouldn't be taken seriously

Thank you Edgarde for giving me a new topic for depate on my talk page. I really appriciate it a whole lot.
Yours Truly,
BrianGriffin-FG 18:11, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

I'm not seeing much action in your debate topics. Would you consider moving these debates to a sub-page of WT:FAMILYGUY? As long as it's pertinent to editing articles, it's worth discussion within the WikiProject. Can't be used as a forum for general FG chat, but I think the 3 questions you pose here are at least loosely pertinent.
We're trying (me and TheBlazikenMaster (talk · contribs) mostly) to get people to make use of WikiProject Family Guy. Most of the editors on Family Guy articles are newbies and drive-by's who don't even read talk pages, so the community will be fairly small. But we're hoping to get something organized, and establish a few precedents for consistency between articles. / edgarde 18:29, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

This is a section for reviews of a newsletter I do at school with reviews of animated shows. This is the closest thing I have to an E-mail address, so I'm using it.

This is NOT for other Wikipedians, unless they have acsess to my newsleter. If you read the letter, and would like to say somthing, don't use my name, use "Brian" or "BG" or even "Frank" if you want, just don't use my acual name. Thank you.--BrianGriffin-FG

[edit] The Family Guy Helpers

A Family Guy Helper is a person who is a fan of Family Guy and whoes sole-mission is to help fix any FG articles that have major mistakes and help another Family Guy Helper, if they can, who has created a new article, FG-related or not, if that other member needs help. There are no regular meetings (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, ect.). I, BrianGriffin-FG, am the founder and current president of The Family Guy Helpers. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.--BrianGriffin-FG 23:23, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

The Family Guy Helpers are currently inactive.--BrianGriffin-FG

[edit] Polices

7. We will sometimes go to the Family Guy Wikia to help them.
8. We will also go to Wikiquote to help with there Family Guy articals.

[edit] Critizism and Rejections

No thanks, but if you really wanna improve I suggest you join the WikiProject, it's very deserted, since Family Guy is so famous, more people are needed to join. Click here, it's up to you, I'm inviting you to join, and please try to invite some of your friends, if you're interested in joining, this project needs a lot of attention. TheBlazikenMaster 15:46, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

Instead of founding a new organization, would you consider contributing to Wikipedia:WikiProject Family Guy, which already has at least 5 active members? No point in duplicating efforts. / edgarde 00:34, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

All the helpers go to the project? Sounds great. TheBlazikenMaster 17:00, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
[A Events Section] would be pretty helpful in WikiProject Family Guy. If I made an Events section there, could you help keep it up to date?
Still not interested in forking the WikiProject. / edgarde 23:18, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] News

Good news, you're in! The you got 8.75 on the multiple choise part of the quiz! The only one that wasn't what I was looking for was number 8, and that was in a weird zone, because it wasn't right, but it wasn't wrong. The answer I was looking for was E) All of the above, because it has been implied a few times that he has done pot, but you were right, and you aced the quiz. And you meet Seth MacFarlane, so that's a really good strike for you!

I got a few more questions for ya' though:

1) What is your stand on the bulleted sections (culturel refrences, trivia, notes, ect.)? Do you want to keep them, or do you want them in a diffrent format?
I'm not sure about the fact that they are bulleted, I'll spend some time organzing them, and I think they are all useful, except Trivia is discouriged on Wiki

2) Do you have a WikiQuote page and a FamGuyWiki page? I need to know this.

I don't but I could create one. The wikia Page I use is this

3) Do you have a DVR (anything like TiVo really)?
I live in britain, and I have something called sky+, which has 999 chanels and is fucking awesome!

4) What do you consider yourself an expert in (TV shows, books, movies, editing, ect)?
everything to do with family guy, it is my religion

Well, that's it. Welcome to the helpers. --BrianGriffin-FG 18:19, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Brian a murderer?

This came up on WP:FGdesk. Do you know in what episodes Brian has killed people, either as part of the story or in non-canon gags? If not, can you recommend an editor who is good with this stuff?

Would Wikipedia:WikiProject Family Guy/Reference desk be a good project for the Helpers to take on? Participants are required only to watchlist that page, and answer questions as they come up, with sources as much as possible. Lemme know if you guys are interested in adding this to your mission.  :-) / edg 23:17, 22 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Helpers at WP:FGdesk

Well edg, there is a deleated animatic scene in Vol. 3, if I'm corect, where it shows that he kills people for a living, I forget a word for it, but I don't think that he's killed people in the show. I have to check.\

On a slightly related note, as a holiday present, I'm making you a honorary member of the Helpers. Don't worry, you won't have to do anything, it like getting an honorary degree at a university, all you have is braging rights. You're not a fully-fleged member.

I myself would love to do the Reference Desk. You'll have to ask the other(s) if they'd like to do it. Contact me to let me know!--BrianGriffin-FG (talk) 17:05, 26 December 2007 (UTC)

That's great. No entrance exam for you — I'm already confident that your knowledge and energy will benefit the WikiProject. Sign up sheet: Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Family Guy/Reference desk#Evil monkeys. Read the rules (there's only 3) and add WP:FGdesk to you watchlist.
I hope other members of The Family Guy Helpers understand they are invited to join WT:FGdesk#Evil monkeys as well.
At this time WP:FG has almost no regular members running the backend stuff. Qst might also need some help at Portal:Family Guy, which is looking pretty good, and basicly the work of one editor. Qst is also our MVP for bringing several episode articles up to Good article status.
Didn't Brian run over someone in his Prius, repeatedly? Might have been a celeb, I'm not sure. / edg 17:52, 26 December 2007 (UTC)

Good catch, I forgot about that. It was in Brian in Love and it was, I know I spelled this wrong, Dean Countze. It diddn't say that he died, but he did run over him 2-4 times. I'll join!--BrianGriffin-FG (talk) 17:59, 26 December 2007 (UTC)

(tents fingers) Excellent! The helpdesk question I was asking about is Wikipedia:WikiProject Family Guy/Reference desk#Brian_a_murderer.3F. Your time to shine dude! / edg 18:08, 26 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Viewer Script

Didn't want to ask at the Desk, but is someone you know working on a fan script? I'd be curious to see it. Email me if you want to communicate offline about this. / edg 22:35, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

Scratch that. I decided to get into the 21st Century and I got e-mail. So you can e-mail me here. Can't wait to hear from you! With all due respect, BrianGriffin-FG (talk) 21:21, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

You still alive ed? I haven't heard from you in a while. Just checkin'. --BrianGriffin-FG (talk) 01:36, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

I'm alive, Bri. Waist deep in unfamiliar, possibly non-working networking equipment at a job site. I scanned your script and it seemed to have more good ideas than I expected. I'll give it a more thorough read when I have the energy & free time, and I will get back to you on it via email. / edg 03:31, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
