[edit] Introduction
Brian Patrie is a 1.7m tall, male homo sapien. He was born July 29, 1965 (1965-07-29) (age 42). He currently resides in northeast Alabama USA.
He formally joined Wikipedia, after having anonymously submitted a handful of edits (typically linking articles to other articles).
He cohosted, and produced Off Track, a weekly music and banter programme, on the W0KIE Satellite Radio Network (untill the internal politics that led to that network's demise drove him and his cohost to leave in frustration).
[edit] Quirks
He pronounces
- vi vye (because it's not v.i.)
- Linux lee-nooks (as Linus does)
He tends to spell
- i in lowercase (just as me, je, moi, ich, yo)
- various english words in international fashion (e.g. favour, realise)
[edit] Brotherly remarks
Brian is also my brother, and i consider him the überest geek in our family — a family of geeks, including six ham radio operators: Brian, Renée, Clay, Barb, Jo, and me (Heath), who use various computer platforms, and play musical instruments ranging from trombone to harp. He is one of the people i ask for tech advice. And, i think he is pretty cool. ;-]

[edit] Cosmic debris
The 1906 San Francisco earthquake left a statue of Swiss-American geologist Louis Agassiz embedded head first into the ground, on the campus of Stanford University. It is said that when the earthquake struck, "[the statue of] Agassiz stuck his head underground to find out what was going on in the earth below and with his finger pointing saying, 'Hark! Listen!'"
Stanford President David Starr Jordan wrote, "Somebody—Dr. Angell, perhaps—remarked that 'Agassiz was great in the abstract but not in the concrete.'"
