Random stream-of-thought ideas for film plots:
- Set in the old west (or some other time when they had horses), a bounty hunter captures a dangerous woman, but has to get her into town to the authorities without all the other suspicious/greedy townspeople knowing (and without letting her escape or hurt anyone else), so he dresses her all up, with a veil on her face, but underneath the dress, she is tied up. he puts her on a horse, and walks her through the town like she is his wife. along the way, people either take interest in her because of her appearance or because they know who she is and that she is worth a lot of money. the catch is that the audience doesn't know any of this. they think it's just a man and his wife riding through a town full of kniving bastards trying to kidnap her, and the man is fighting them off. it's only in the end, when the woman frees herself outside the sheriff's place and screams for help (to get away from the man), that the man is shot down, and the audience becomes confused. the woman talks her way out of the ignorant sheriff's hands (she tells him the man kidnapped her and shows him the rope burns, etc), she is freed, and (just like in The Usual Suspects), the sheriff (and the audience) become aware that she is a deadly fugitive assassin bitch
- Other possibilities for this:
- foreshadowing to prevent the ending from seeming a bit deus ex machina
- the woman is dressed refinedly, as is the man, but his facial expressions and appearance don't quite fit
- maybe some kids come close to the horse, and he shews them off nervously, as if protecting them from her
- the man could be carrying way too many weapons to be your average gentleman (eg: sawed-off shotgun)
- have some nasty-looking guy eye her up and try to go after her, then have another respectable-bounty-hunter-looking guy do the same thing.. the first one wanted her, while the 2nd one recognized her and knew she was worth $$; but their expressions upon viewing her face would be slightly different
- Need to lengthen film:
- maybe he starts in one town and is trying to get her to the sheriff in the next town; people become suspicious of their activities in the first town
- a robbery (by her) in the first town, told through successive flashbacks, possibly initiated by people in the 2nd town reading aloud a newspaper article on the robbery; the man would be trying to bring her back to the 1st town to get the reward
- in the last flashback, you realize she was involved
- may be difficult to do without viewers realizing early what really happened
- foreshadowing to prevent the ending from seeming a bit deus ex machina
- Other possibilities for this:
- A small ship in space, with only a few people in the crew (very original...)
- They don't speak English, but some unheard-of future language, WITHOUT subtitles (so it would be like watching a silent film in that respect)
- Eventually the viewers pick up through flashbacks or video logs what happened to the people. The viewers realize that they are the last humans in existence.
- They fight about what their future course of action will be. A couple want to survive and keep the species going, others want to stop the "disease of self-awareness" from spreading.
- Would probably have to be a short film.
