[edit] Too many names
MarnetteD, why should you think there were too many names for The Elusive Pimpernel? There were 4 names in the cast section. There are plenty of other entries with 4 names. The are all well known actors, in major roles -- SteveCrook 19:01, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
- Hi SteveCrook. I have been trying to keep these to three names or less because:
- I have been trying to keep the info here somewhat brief as this is only a list that is meant to lead people to the article on the film. If they are interested in learning the entire cast they can click on the link to the film to learn more.
- I don't think the tables look as good when one section of it gets too full and that happens most often in the cast list section.
- When other editors enter films they are not aware of this. I had one film that had 8 or 9 cast members listed which really distorted the look of the table. I have not gone through and removed many of the ones from films with four names and since my reason for number 2 above is purely personal and your request is entirely reasonable I have restored them to the film as requested. Cheers. MarnetteD | Talk 19:50, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

- They are valid reasons, although I'd suggest limiting to 2 or 3 rather than just 2. Quite often you have the hero, the heroine and the villain :)
What about a note as a comment at the start of each section. Then anyone editing it would be aware of this -- SteveCrook 23:43, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Usage notes
I've added usage notes at the start of the section for each year for all of the "British films of the ####s" pages. Anyone editing either a whole page or just that section will now see these and will hopefully follow them. I'm open to other suggestions about them of course -- SteveCrook 02:23, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
