[edit] Gallery
I put the images in a gallery as on my resolution of 1024x768 using Firefox 1.5 (not an uncommon setup) the second left hand image floats to the right of the first left hand image. This leaves a white space to the bottom left, a divider running behing the image and the text (including the see also and the stub messages) squished into the middle of the page (Wikipedia:Picture tutorial#Avoiding image "stackups"). While the current layout has the advantage that the image is next to the paragraph in which it is refered, I felt that the gallery approach would avoid the appearance problems as well as avoiding the potential whitespace that in inevitable with using the clear:both method of resolving this. This change was reverted by User:Stan Shebs with the message "looks just fine the way it is". Is there any particular reason why the gallery is not suitable for this page? - I had carefully arranged the images and text to interleave correctly, which gallerification destroys for no apparent gain - but I see that if I stretch out my window to the full width of the screen, the flow messes up. I think I'd rather solve it by pumping up the text a bit though, let me give that a try and have the gallery be a last resort. Stan 18:26, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
