In Denton, Greater Manchester#Famous People from Denton an anon has written Brian Statham. Can anybody verify this. It doesn't actually say in the article - it just says when he was young he used to play for the team there. --βjweþþ (talk) 17:40, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

Brian may have been born in Denton, but he lived in Gorton and went to Aspinal School.I can't remember vthe name of the street he lived in {Cranbrook Rd?], but it was parallel with Reddish Lane, and their outer back door was in Athol Street opposite Turnbull Rd.His father was a dentist. Brian's nickname was The Gorton Greyhound. I went to Aspi's at the same time although I can't claim that he knew me. donratcliffe@tiscali.co.uk —Preceding I've done a bit more researdh, and there was a John Brian Statham registered as a birth on June 30th 1930 in the South Manchester office. This is almost bound to be him.Did he not have a wife or children? Don Ratcliffe again.unsigned comment added by 212.139.106.7 (talk) 17:25, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
