[edit] Rape Accusation

He was accused of sexual assault while he was with the Swift Current Broncos. Just wondering if this should be added to the page, I'm not 100% clear on the criteria. I think it's notable, and well sourced enough, but what do I know? I did a quick write-up:

During his time in Swift Current, Sakic and teammate Wade Smith were accused of violently raping a teenaged girl. Charges were laid against the players, but initially the community did not believe her. Soon, public mischief charges were filed against her and the rape charges were stayed. The judge ruled that "she believed she had said no". Sakic and Smith did not deny the violence they had inflicted on her, but they claimed that she had consented. Despite the verdict of the girl's trial, Smith and Sakic were never re-charged. Shortly after the girl made the accusation, both players were traded to the Tri-City Americans.
