[edit] Usefulness

I found this article very useful. Thank you

The term is coming more popular since the Mexican president used it in the last World Economic Forum. Another support for this term is the last Goldman Sachs report including Mexico. The same report that gave rise to the BRIC. hzenilc

BRIMC is not a very widely used term. Why not simply merge this article with BRIC, and menction in that article the new relevance of Mexico? I am sure there are plenty of sourced material to back this claim! Hari Seldon 16:39, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

I agree. —Nightstallion (?) 23:08, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

The only source this article provides to verify that the term even exists is the first one, which is an interview: a guy giving his opinion. Is one opinion the basis of a wikipedia entry? I think this article should be nominated for deletion. Hari Seldon 04:35, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

I've removed the speedy deletion tags, because this having survived an AfD means it's not really a CSD candidate. If you want to, open a second deletion discussion. yandman 08:12, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Deletion

I would like to propose this article for deletion based on the following reasons:

  • The term is not in wide use
  • The term is not notable
  • The article's only source is an interview: an opinion
  • The term tries to advance the idea that Mexico is in the same category as a BRIC country. Though the idea may be true, creating an article for only that purpose is personal promotion
  • The article looks like original research

I think these are sufficient enough reasons for deletion. Hari Seldon 18:54, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
