Purpose of use

The performance of the song in question dates from 1966 and the song was scheduled to be on the Beach Boys album Smile. However the album, one of the most famous unreleased albums, never materialised and so this performance of the song is the prime example of what could have been in regards to the Smile album. Although the song was released in 1971, this performance is well known and highly regarded.
