Brixton Railway Station is in Brixton town centre, South London, on the line between London Victoria and Orpington. Trains are operated by Southeastern. The normal service is one train every 15 minutes in both directions.

To get from Brixton tube station to the main-line station, turn right out of the tube and then take the first main road on the right. The station is above ground level - for Victoria take the stairs in the pavement, for Orpington go into the tunnel and past the ticket office.

The South London Line passes above the platforms, but there are no platforms on that line. Trains stopped at nearby East Brixton railway station until it closed in 1976. There are unconfirmed plans to put platforms in when the South London Line becomes part of the East London Line extension, as with Loughborough Junction.

[edit] Murals

A number of murals have been painted on the outside of the station.
