Brittny Gastineau (born November 6, 1983) is an American model, socialite, and reality television personality. She is of French ancestry hence her French surname. She is the daughter of former New York Jets defensive end football player Mark Gastineau, and Lisa Gastineau.
During the bitter divorce between her parents, Brittny lived with her grandmother and attended private school in Manhattan. After graduating high school, she went to Tuscaloosa to attend the University of Alabama, following in the footsteps of her mother. She intended to study event planning, but went back to New York City for the social scene.
Gastineau is currently pursuing a career in acting and is a Model (person). She has received work, starting with a photo spread in Stuff magazine that she attained weeks after she began to pursue modeling. During an interview conducted with the magazine, Gastineau expressed her desire to film a reality television show with her mother Lisa. "Gastineau Girls" went into production shortly thereafter and was aired on the E! Network.
Following the success of the show, opportunities for Gastineau increased. She walked runways for Anne Bowen and Anna Sui during NYC fashion week in 2005, and signed an endorsement deal with L'Oreal Paris, which led to a European advertising campaign. She also became the face of high end casual wear designer Ed Hardy. She appeared on the cover of Steppin' Out, Hamptons and Lucire magazines. In 2005, she appeared on Maxim magazine's Hot 100 list, ranking at number 60.[1]
Following the success of Gastineau Girls, Gastineau signed onto another E! Network reality show, Filthy Rich: Cattle Drive. Produced by Joe Simpson (father of Jessica & Ashlee Simpson), cameras followed the privileged children of celebrities working on a Colorado cattle ranch. The show wasn't as successful as Gastineau Girls, but it did keep Gastineau's name and image in the public eye.
As the second season of Gastineau Girls began, Brittny became the spokesperson for AOL, and became the first celebrity to create a podcast for iTunes. Again teaming with her mother Lisa, the ladies were offered opportunities to write articles for OK! magazine, and also landed a book deal. Brittny's modeling career continued to florish, including contracts with M.A.C. cosmetics, as well as runway shows for Heatherette and Dash. Brittny again teamed with mother Lisa to create Tres Glam, a high-end accessory line in 2007. The first season exclusively catered to jewlery, but handbags, shoes and make-up will be added in the future. The girls also hosted segements for ManiaTV and Spike TV.
Gastineau appeared as a guest host on The View. She appeared as one of the 12 "strangers" on NBC's game show Identity on December 19, 2006. She guest hosted the Montell Williams show and Isaac Mizrahi show. She has appeared on Keeping Up with the Kardashians, with best friend and fellow socialite Kim Kardashian. Most recently she has appeared on the Lifetime series, Top this Party, where she and close friend Fabian Basabe hosted a charity event.
Today, Gastineau lives in Los Angeles. She is currently signed to the Elite Modeling Agency where she continues to model and aspires to become an actress.
