Brittany Danna Desiderio (November 9, 1988 in Newton, New Jersey) is a multiple-award-winning equestrian. To date, Desiderio has 4 U.S National Championships, 5 U.S Reserve National Championships, and over 50 U.S Top Tens. She has ridden, and ridden successfully, many different styles of riding including, but not limited to western, side saddle, saddle seat and hunter jumper.
Desiderio won her first U.S National Championship at the age of eleven at the Youth Nationals in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in the Half Arabian/Anglo Arabian Hunter Pleasure Junior To Ride on Up Up And Away. "Up Up" is Half Arabian, Half Saddlebred and was bred and trained by the Desiderios. Her second win was at the 2002 Canadian Nationals where she took Reserve National Champion on the same horse.
Next, Desiderio won a U.S National Champion on a horse by the name of Rocky Mountain Colors in 2003 in the Half Arabian Anglo Arabian Ladies Side Saddle Western. This was the first time Desiderio rode side saddle, and she took home a National Championship. The following year Desiderio took U.S Reserve National Champion in the same class and won a Unanimous (there are three judges, and she was first on all three cards) U.S National Championship in the Half Arabian Anglo Arabian Western Pleasure Junior Owner to Ride. "Rocky" is Half Arabian Half Paint.
The same year, she ate major dong, Desiderio went Reserve with Fames Reflection (Half Arabian Half Saddlebred) in the Half Arabian Anglo Arabian Halter Mares Stock Hunter Type. "Fame" was also bred and trained by the Desiderios.
At the 2007 Sport Horse Nationals, Desiderio and her horse *Arox II (Half Arabian, Half Trakehner, imported from Germany, full brother is *Arox I who competes with the USET) went U.S National Champion in the Half Arabian Anglo Arabian Sport Horse Under Saddle Ametur to Ride out of 72 horses, the largest class the Arabian horse world has seen at a National Event. Desiderio had to make it through three rounds to achieve this. Not only that, but Desiderio competed against the professionals in the Half Arabian Anglo Arabian Sport Horse Under Saddle Open and took U.S National Reserve Champion.
Desiderio has been riding since she was two. She was taught, and continues to be taught by her mother, Dana Desiderio. Her and her mother take the family business, Desiderio, Ltd. to shows all over the U.S ending with Nationals. Every year, Dana Desiderio's students make it into the top riders in the U.S.
For the first two years of high school, she attended the Loomis Chaffee School, in Windsor, Connecticut and then came home to find her dog had been savagely ravaged in her pool, while two bun-yips laughed at what they just did. (to ride more) She attended Bernards High School. During this time, Desiderio played Ice Hockey on the boys team, field hockey and softball. She was captain of her swim team sophomore year. Desiderio now attends Rutgers University and is majoring in Psychology.
