The National (British) Under 23's Championship was an inaugural professional wrestling event hosted by International Pro Wrestling: United Kingdom on November 18, 2006 at the Drill Hall, in Ware, Hertfordshire, to crown the first-ever British Under 23's Champion.
In what was considered a historic event in British wrestling history, the event would showcase young talent from over 12 United Kingdom promotions and though the event was hosted by IPW:UK it ran under the British Wrestling United (BWU) banner with the intention for the belt to then be defended on various companies' shows around the country for the foreseeable future.

[edit] British Wrestling United
BWU is the combination of several UK promotions. Though not all the promotions would directly participate in the first event, they have all lent their full support to the project. The promotions are:
- American Wrestling Association: United Kingdom (AWA:UK) - founding promotion of the venue which the event is being held in
- Combat Sports Federation (CSF)
- Celtic Wrestling (C/W)
- Four Front Wrestling (4FW)
- Frontier Wrestling Alliance (FWA)
- FWA:Academy - (FWA:A - FWA's training promotion)
- Herts and Essex Wrestling (HEW)
- International Pro Wrestling: United Kingdom (IPW:UK) - hosts
- LDN Wrestling (LDN)
- Leicester Pro Wrestling (LPW)
- Real Quality Wrestling (RQW)
- Real Deal Wrestling (RDW)
- Summit Wrestling (SW)
- Three Count Wrestling (3CW)
- Triple X Wrestling (TXW)
- Varsity Pro Wrestling (VPW)
- World Association of Wrestling (WAW)
- X-Sports: Wrestling (X-S:W)
Originally 1 Pro Wrestling, a largely international promotion based in England was supporting the project until they pulled out citing ‘political and logistical problems’. The FWA was brought in to replace 1PW; entering wrestler Spud under their banner. With 1PW’s low ratio of exclusive British under 23 talent, Spud was the probable choice of entrant for 1PW and would clearly be the biggest star in the event.
