The British Quiz Association (BQA) is an umbrella group aiming to represent the interests of the millions[citation needed] of Quizzers in the UK.
The BQA was founded in a Reading Hotel on July 10th, 2001. It was the Brainchild of Trevor Montague, who had for two years previously run a British Quiz Championships as sport of Mind Sports Olympiad.
The first chairman was Mastermind club president Tony Dart, Trevor Montague was to be the managing director and also present were Mark Labbett and Rob Linham.
The association ran British Championships in 2001-3, but went into a moribund state following resignations of many of the committee[citation needed] and in late 2004 Trevor Parry took over running the organisation.
Since 2004 British Quizzing Championships have been run by quizzing.co.uk as they have the necessary personnel and skills[citation needed].
