Britannia Roundabout
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Britannia Roundabout is an infamous intersection near the city of Adelaide. Many minor accidents have occurred over the years at this traffic black spot.[1].
Roundabouts generally work fine with four roads but the Brittania Roundabout has to deal with five roads. The five roads in clockwise order are Fullarton Road North, Kensington Road, Fullarton Road South, Wakefield Road and Dequettiville Terrace. Drivers travelling in a south easterly direction on Dequettiville Terrace face difficulty at the intersection because Wakefield Road traffic comes from well over their right shoulder. The angle is sharp, in fact its a hairpin because its used as such on the Adelaide Street Circuit, the temporary motor racing track.
