Brighton Hove and District Football League

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Brighton Hove and District Football League is a football competition involving teams in and around Brighton and Hove, in England, United Kingdom. It was established in 1903 and amalagated in 1919. It has 5 divisions, headed by a Premier Division, with Divisions One to Four below that. There also used to be a Division Five, but this was disbanded in 2003. The winners of the Premier Division may apply for promotion to the Sussex County League Division Three, which would mean that the Premier Division sits at level 12 of the English football league system. However, officially, it is a step 7 (or level 11) league and it is part of the National League System.

In 2006-07, Hanover won the Premier Division title, but did not apply for promotion.
