Brighton Beach is a station on the BMT Brighton Line of the New York City Subway. It is located over Brighton Beach Avenue at Brighton 6th Street in the community of Brighton Beach on Coney Island in Brooklyn.

Brighton Beach station is the terminal of the B service (Brighton Beach–6th Avenue Express) weekdays, and a way station for the Q service (Brighton Beach Local–Broadway Express) at all times.

[edit] Stairs and Exits

The station has 2 exits, each of which has 4 sets of stairs.

  • The northern (main) exit stairs are located between Brighton 7th street and Coney Island Avenue. There is an escalator in place of one of the stairs on the northern side of Brighton Beach Avenue at Coney Island Avenue.
  • The southern exit is located between Brighton 5th and 6th streets.

[edit] Stretch to the next station

Between this station and Ocean Parkway, the line becomes six tracks. The local and express tracks split into an extra storage track in between them in both directions. These tracks are commonly used for storing B trains at times when they don't operate, and end at a bumper next to the Ocean Parkway platform.
