Briggs Preparatory School is a private primary school in Trinidad and Tobago founded in 1975 by the late Esmee Briggs, a former teacher of Bishop Anstey High School and the late Malcolm Briggs a former clerk at the Red House, her husband. The school caters for children from 3-11 at which point children enter secondary school unless if the student has to repeat 11 plus examinations. As well as traditional subjects, students study music, religious instruction, computing, art and drama. The school uniform colour is a light striped blue, changed from tradition thicker, heavier squared darker blue. The school was located at Belmont Circular Road although now is located in Cascade. The original building is now owned by the Trinidad and Tobago Retired Person Association and is leased to Belmont Boys Roman Catholic School. The present principal is Mrs Sarah Wallace. When the students enter standard 1 each one gets a house button. The three houses are, Red Flamboyant, Yellow Allamanda and Purple Patriya.
The school celebrates special events such as St. Nicholas day when the school goes to the All Saints Anglican Church. On December 6 there is a Christmas concert and party at the end of the Michaelmas term. Sports day at the end of the Hilary and Speech day at which prizes are given to students based on merit at the end of the Trinity term.
During the final year at Briggs Preparatory School after the standard five SEA exams during the third term students attend outings to different places including a Tobago trip and after speech day there is a graduation at which the students get their certificates.
