Briggs Initiative
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Briggs Initiative may popularly refer to one of two pieces of Californian legislation sponsored by John Briggs:
- California Proposition 6 (November 1978), a failed initiative, which would have prevented gays and lesbians from teaching in California's public schools
- California Proposition 7 (November 1978), which did pass, which expanded the types of legal cases in which the death penalty could be imposed
