Brierley Hill Alliance F.C.
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Brierley Hill Alliance F.C. was an English football (soccer) club based in Brierley Hill in the Metropolitan Borough of Dudley.
The club was among the founder members of the Birmingham & District League in 1890 and the team were league champions on two occasions and runners-up on four occasions.[1] The club was also notable for being involved in the first ever FA Cup match to be played under floodlights, when they took on Kidderminster Harriers in 1955.[2][3]
Alliance also won the Birmingham Senior Cup in 1932–33,[4] 1936–37, 1951–52 and 1952–53.[5]
The last known season in which the club played was 1980–81,[1] after which it seems to have folded.
The only football club now based in Brierley Hill is Brierley Hill & Withymoor.
