This is the view from the back of a passenger train as it crossed the Erie Canal/Mohawk River on a trip from Whitehall, New York to Oneonta, New York on September 12, 1993. The rails on the bridge have since been reconfigured as part of a clearance project in the late 90's. The double track was removed and replaced by a single set of rails in the center of the bridge. This was to allow the passage of very large steam turbine parts to be moved by rail from Schenectady's General Electric to the Port of Albany.
