Brian Young is the drummer for the New York based power pop band Fountains of Wayne who have released four major label albums and scored an RIAA certified gold record for their single Stacy's Mom. Prior to his work in Fountains of Wayne he spent the early 1990s in the Seattle based band The Posies and appears on their 1996 album Amazing Disgrace released on Geffen Records.
He has also worked with a vast number of artists such as America, Ivy, Burt Bacharach, members of Tool, The Walkabouts, Afghan Whigs, Jim Carroll, Skyward, The Long Winters and international superstar Junko Yagami.
Although born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania he currently resides in Los Angeles, California. He is an endorser of Pearl Drums and Sabian cymbals.
