Brian Trench is an author and academic at Dublin City University. Originally a leading member of the Socialist Workers' Movement he joined the Socialist Labour Party with that group but left soon afterwards. After the collapse of the SLP he briefly wrote for Gralton an Irish Socialist magazine until that too collapsed.
