Brian Lee Traxler (born September 26, 1967, in Waukegan, Illinois – died November 19, 2004, in San Antonio, Texas) was a Major League Baseball first baseman. He was an alumnus of the University of New Orleans.
Drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 16th round of the 1988 MLB amateur draft, Traxler made his Major League Baseball debut with the Dodgers on April 24, 1990.
Traxler played a number of seasons for the Albuquerque Dukes minor league baseball club. To this day, he is remembered fondly as a favorite all-time player of many Dukes fans. In fact, he was a fan favorite everywhere he went across his 13 seasons as a pro (1988-2000). He was a hitting instructor in the Dodgers minor-league system after his playing career ended.
On November 19, 2004, Traxler died after enduring a coma for two weeks.
