Brian Scudamore (born March 16,1970) is the Founder and CEO of 1-800-GOT-JUNK?. In 1989 Scudamore started a single truck junk hauling business named The Rubbish Boys Disposal Services as a way to pay for university tuition [2]. After several years of hauling junk and attending The University of British Columbia he dropped out of school to focus full time on the junk removal business.
After exploring numerous ways to grow the business, he opted to franchise the junk removal service to numerous cities in Canada and the United States. In 1998 the company's operating name was changed to 1-800-GOT-JUNK?.
To date Brian Scudamore’s leadership is widely recognized by the media and business community. 1-800-GOT-JUNK? is consistently named a Best Employer in Canada. 1-800-GOT-JUNK? is ranked as one of the fastest growing franchises.
In 2003, Scudamore was featured on Oprah and has gone on to be covered by Fortune Magazine and CNN. He has also been on Dr. Phil, Rachael Ray and Donny Deutsch. 1-800-GOT-JUNK? was also featured on the Food Network's "Restaurant Makeover".
Scudamore was named entrepreneur of year by IFA International Franchise Association 2008.
