Brian Morgenstern (born 1983) is a New Jersey native and Circuit City employee who received national recognition for reporting a Jihadist training video that was later linked to a plot to attack the Fort Dix Army base in New Jersey. By reporting the videotape to authorities, Morgenstern was credited with foiling the planned attack.
[edit] 2007 Fort Dix attack plot
Morgenstern worked at a Circuit City in Burlington County, New Jersey in January 2006 when a man dropped off a 8mm video tape to be converted to a DVD. The video tape featured ten men in their early 20's shooting assault weapons and calling for Jihad.
Morgenstern called the tape "disturbing" and alerted the authorities the next day.
U.S. Attorney Christopher Christie said, "If we didn't get that tip, I couldn't be sure what would happen."[1]
FBI agent J.P. Weis called Morgenstern the "unsung hero" of the case.[2]
Morgenstern first shared his story on CNN American Morning on May 29, 2007.
