Brian Heap

Professor Sir (Robert) Brian Heap CBE FRS is a biologist.

He was the Master of St Edmund's College, University of Cambridge from 1996 until 2004 and is Special Professor in Animal Physiology at the University of Nottingham. He was elected a fellow of the Royal Society in 1989, and held the post of Royal Society Vice President and Foreign Secretary from 1996 to 2001. He has obtained degrees from the Universities of Nottingham and Cambridge. He is a founder member of the International Society for Science and Religion[1]

On 8 October 2007, the HRH The Duke of Edinburgh opened three new buildings at St Edmund's College, Cambridge, one of which was named the "Brian Heap Building".[2]
