Brian Hancock

Brian Hancock (born Cardiff, August 8, 1950) is a Welsh politician and member of Plaid Cymru. Brian Hancock is standing for the Newport West constituency in the National Assembly for Wales election, 2007.

Born in Cardiff, lived in Newport for 28 years, Brian Hancock now lives in Risca. Brian Hancock ran BHA Consulting Ltd before election and P.R.I.M.E. (People, Resources, Investment/Innovation, Management, Environment/ Enterprise)Partners Ltd after elction

He has been chair of Newport Harriers Athletic Club for past 15 years, School Governor of primary and comprehensive schools for many years, founder chair of Islwyn Canal Assocition.

Educated at Lady Mary High School, Cardiff, then Llandaff Technical College, also in Cardiff, then Bath University, Glamorgan Polytechnic (now University of Glamorgan)(Chemical Engineering). Post Grad Dipoloma(= MSc)in occupational Health & Safety, Aston University, Post Grad Certificate in Loss Prevention & Risk Assesment, Loughborough University and recently Certificate (mini-MBA) in Sustainable Profitable Growth and Leadership, Cardiff Business School, University of Wales.

Previous Occupation(s) Project/Chemical Engineer, Monsanto Ltd 1974-76. Shift Production Supervisor and Chemical Engineer, ReChem International Ltd 1976-81, Assistant Plant Manager 1981-85. Specialist Chemical Inspector of Factories, Health and Safety Executive 1985-88. Health, Safety and Environment Superintendent, BP Chemicals 1988-92. Self-employed Health, Safety and Environment Consultant 1992-2001.
