Brian Furniss
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
John Brian Furniss (better known as Brian Furniss; born November 16, 1934) was an English cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler who played for Derbyshire between 1955 and 1956. He was born in Baslow.
Furniss made his first-class Derbyshire debut in a victory against Scotland in August 1955 before appearing for two games in the County Championship at the beginning of the 1956 season. He failed to make a strong impression, however, and was quickly out of the team.
Furniss played just one more game for Derbyshire, against Oxford University. Furniss also played briefly in the Minor Counties Championship for the Derbyshire Second XI.
Furniss was a tailending batsman and, for the most part, an economical bowler.
