Brian Edwards (born October 6, 1984 in Summit, New Jersey) is an American soccer player who currently plays for Major League Soccer side Toronto FC.
In a 2-year playing career at Wake Forest, Edwards put up fantastic numbers, posting a career 0.87 GA, 31 career shutout, and led the Demon Decons to the NCAA Division I soccer championship with a win over Ohio State. During his college years he also played with Carolina Dynamo of the USL Premier Development League.
At 2008 MLS SuperDraft, Edwards was drafted number 28 overall in the 2nd round by Toronto FC. Having impressed, Coach John Carver brought him on as the back-up goalkeeper behind Greg Sutton.
He made his MLS debut on 29 March 2008 in a 2-0 defeat to Columbus Crew.[1]
