Brian Donnelly (UK diplomat)

Joseph Brian Donnelly KCMG, KBE, CMG is a retired United Kingdom diplomat. Donnelly attended The Queen's College, Oxford from 1963-1966[1], then received his Master's Degree from the University of Wisconsin. Afterwards, he began an M.Phil at LSE, but left in 1970. After school he worked at the GCHQ, and in 1973 began working at the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office. He worked several UK and overseas diplomatic postings before being appointed UK Ambassador to Yugoslavia, and later served a tumultuous role as Ambassador to Zimbabwe.
