Brian Adler

Brian Adler (born August 6, 1980) is a Canadian media personality. He gained notoriety as a host and VJ on MTV Canada's programs Select and 969. He is currently the host of his own video podcast, the Adlercast.

Brian Adler was born in Richmond, British Columbia. His desire to become a broadcaster manifested early in his life. At London Sr. Secondary in Richmond he ran the school radio station (CFLY) for two years. He MC'd all station events and swept the school's broadcasting awards. At age 18, he enrolled in the British Columbia Institute of Technology's Broadcasting Department, a school which is widely recognized as one of the top broadcasting schools in Canada. Amongst fierce competition from his classmates, Adler excelled, graduating at the top of his class. He is now the youngest member of the Advisory Board for the program.

Rock 101 Vancouver CFMI (CLASSIC ROCK) 1998-1999 - Worked the midnight shift as on-air talent at age 19. In order to gain respect from his listeners, he pretended to be age 30. Brian also worked in promotions, board operation and the music department.
Extreme 107.3 Victoria (MODERN ROCK) 1999-2002 - Had the #1 evening show and #1 afternoon drive show in the age 18-34 demographic . Best known for adult natured humour, band interviews and highly produced call in bits, involving such characters as strippers, drag queens and incarcerated convicts as co-hosts.
MTV Canada 2002-2005 - Brian hosted the flagship show of the new network, MTV Select. He was also the senior producer and music programmer for the show. In addition, he was the senior host, senior producer and music programmer for the flagship show 969. Nominated twice for Leo Awards for best TV host in British Columbia, winning the award in 2005. His program 969 also won for best show in 2005.
CHUM TV (Razer) 2005-2006 - Brian helped CHUM TV launch the new network Razer as senior host, senior producer and music programmer for the flagship show 969. Best known for his band interviews and his ability to draw stories out of artists that they ordinarily wouldn't discuss. Nominated for best TV host in BC at Leo Awards as well as for best show (969).
Adler has also filled in as the host of Breakfast Television (CHUM's City TV) and Urban Rush (ShawTV).
Adlercast (Video Podcast) Summer 2006-Present - Brian produces and hosts this in-depth band interview show which is distributed to a global audience online via iTunes, MySpace, and the Adlercast website. Adler is also the show's creator.

Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling (ECCW) 2004-2006 - Wrestled under the moniker "The Plagerizer". He was known for showing up for his matches dressed like his opponents and mimicking them the entire match, and would then use their own finishing moves against them. The fights began as a publicity stunt storyline Adler played out live on MTV, and continued for a short time afterwords.
