briQ

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

briQ is a small PowerPC mainboard made by Total Impact. It includes a case which is sized to fit in a 5.25-inch drive bay and has a vacuum fluorescent display text display on the front.

Onboard components include either a PowerPC 750FX or 7400 CPU, an Ethernet port, an IDE connector, a PCI slot, and a serial port. It does not include a keyboard port or a video chipset; a PCI video card can be added, but these generally are too tall to fit in the case.

The included firmware is Open Firmware.

It is capable of running the Linux kernel. The manufacturer's preferred distribution is Yellow Dog Linux.
