[edit] Stubs
Hi - I noticed your question on the Reference desk about stubs. A better place to look for existing stub types is WP:WSS/ST - it gives a complete list of the stub categories and templates. As to one for the portal, if it's not there, news stub types should be proposed before creation - and the place to do that is at WP:WSS/P. That way they can be discussed to see how well they fit in with existing stubs and how many articles there are which could use the stub template (usually if there are less than about 50, it's not worth having a new template for a variety of reasons). - No problem :) As to where to reply, some editors prefer one place, some prefer the other - others add a reply to one place and copy and paste it to the other! There's no rules about it. Grutness...wha? 09:33, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
- It's pretty cold here, but no snow at the moment. About five, six degrees celsius but fine. And dark - it's 10pm :) Grutness...wha? 09:50, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
- Nah - I'm past that :) I work part time for the local newspaper (Otago Daily Times) and part time as an artist. Grutness...wha? 10:01, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
- Looks like a good start - good luck with it! Grutness...wha? 10:11, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
- There are lots of different jobs, but there are enough admins that it doesn't amount to a huge lot once it's split up. A lot of it's things like keeping an eye on vandalism and blocking repeat vandals, tidying up various things like deletion and/or re-creation of pages... admins are often called "janitors" on here, because it's the same sort of role in keeping things tidy and running smoothly. Grutness...wha? 10:29, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, similar sort of thing - only WP is so big it needs a few hundred of them. Grutness...wha? 10:45, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
- Yup - 970 at last count according to Wikipedia:List of administrators. Grutness...wha? 02:31, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:Canis_angelic.gif)
Thanks for uploading Image:Canis_angelic.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Iamunknown 17:52, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
