The UAW-Ford University (UFU) was the first Bachelors degree program offered by the University of Michigan over the Internet. It is a five million dollar project funded by Ford in cooperation with the United Auto Workers (UAW). It was nominated for the Computerworld Smithsonian Award in 1999.

Pioneered the dissemination of social science data over the World Wide Web. I implemented the first NCSA webserver at ISR in 1992 and demonstrated it to the National Science Foundation in 1994. This system pioneered the ad hoc querying of survey research panel data.
