[edit] suggested research topic

Because acetylcysteine is very reactive with aldehydes to form water soluble compounds and some of the R groups on Brevetoxin are aldehydes I suggest that research be done on the effectiveness of acetylcysteine on decreasing the toxicity of Brevetoxin. Besides improving renal elimination, it might also alter the ability of the toxin to pass the blood brain barrier.

Of course I might be wrong, it would take experimentation to find out.
