Talk:Brenda Martin
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I think reference 5 is enough to prevent a speedy deletion of the article. Saying that someone is the subject of a parliamentary inquiry is not necessarily enough to pass AfD i n the absence of a good deal else, but is enough of an assertion of notability to pass speedy. I just have to say, this article seems overly sympathetic to Martin for an encyclopedia entry. Someone should change some of the language. I would prefer the original author to change it before I do. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.82.150.81 (talk) 19:25, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] working illegaly
the reference cited makes no mention of whether she was working legally or not so I'd say unless we can find a source to back up this claim it be removed. Macutty (talk) 15:14, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
I agree completely that this article is sympathetic to her. She was living in Mexico and engaging in illegal acts for several years before her detention. It can be argued that she was no longer Canadian and simply used Canada once she was caught doing illegal acts. Funny how she loves Canada now and wants to remain there according to recent interviews. That's the problem with citizenship, thousands of people keep citizenship to Western "modern" and democratic countries while living overseas, only so that they can use that citizenship when the sh*t hits the fan... either way, Brenda Martin shouldn't be protraid as a victim, especially since she's been found guilty of the crime. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.103.38.30 (talk) 15:07, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
