According to [1] she was born in 1944 and her sister was born in 1942. What's correct? --LA2 07:07, 23 April 2006 (UTC)

  • IMDB also says 1944, as does The World Almanac. It was changed by some a-none on Groundhog Day. I'm changing it back. :) Wahkeenah 07:21, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
  • Done. I have to admit, though, that it's kind of hard to believe she recorded Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree at age 14. However, until new evidence surfaces, beyond a-none postings with no source given, we should go with the official story. Wahkeenah 07:23, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
Why not? Wasn't Vanessa Paradis also 14 when she did Joe le taxi? It's 14 year old boys that cannot sing. --LA2 07:35, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
You've got a point. Anyway, 1944 is the official year, and we should stick with it until or if there is contrary evidence, and even then, it should be clearly noted that 1944 is still the "official" birth year (see the Barbara Walters article for a similar controversy). Wahkeenah 07:42, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
Brenda Lee was indeed born in 1944. She starting singing in talent shows at just the age of five! She was first "Paid" for singing at the age of nine, and was first recorded on the 30th July 1956 aged 12. Vera, Chuck & Dave 17:00, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[2]
Actually, on that date she would have been 11. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.149.202.97 (talk) 21:51, 22 December 2007 (UTC)

The third paragraph is excessively coy. Who was the struggling foursome from Liverpool? 198.89.160.22 13:50, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

Agreed. I've changed that. 86.136.251.157 01:46, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:BrendaLeeRare.jpg

Image:BrendaLeeRare.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
