I came across this page while following up Stanley Osher's IPAM GSS 2005 talk(which is here). Does Δ represent a simplex here?Alexander.fairley 17:56, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

Δ seems to represent a set here - an exceedingly odd use of the symbol, to my mind. Couldn't we change that to an S or something? --Oolong (talk) 12:55, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
