Message to whoever redirected the names of some of the Breeders' Cup races: IMHO, they should be changed back to their unsponsored names (e.g., "Breeders' Cup Juvenile"), with the sponsored names as redirects. The sponsored names can change over time. — Dale Arnett 07:24, 24 October 2005 (UTC)

  • Update: As it turned out, they weren't redirects. Someone apparently copied the info in the unsponsored articles and created the sponsored ones, without creating a redirect. Just redirected the sponsored names to unsponsored ones. — Dale Arnett 07:30, 24 October 2005 (UTC)

Consistency

This page uses Breeders, Breeder's, and Breeders' -- the usage should be made consistent. Without knowing a lot about the topic, I think Breeders' is probably correct. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.35.138.173 (talk) 17:40, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

The distance for the Filly & Mare Turf is listed as 1 3/8 miles, which is not strictly correct. The preferred distance has always been 1 1/4 miles. This is easy to determine, since Belmont Park regularly conducts turf racing at both distances (in fact the 1 3/8 mile American record was set there by With Approval in 1990), but when Belmont hosted the BC in 2001 and 2005, the F&M Turf was contested at 1 1/4 miles both times. I will correct the distance to 1 1/4 miles. 21:46, 12 December 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.173.49.45 (talk)
