Can we get sources about him being "charged"? Also, is there material about him being an anti-semite? Thanks, --Tom 12:38, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
- In reading "The Years of Extermination: Germany and the Jews, 1939-1945", the author, Saul Friedlaender, writes as follows about Long: "His attitude, openly expressed in his diary, derived from an unmistakable hostility to Jews. Long's anti-Semitism was neither shrill nor rabid; yet there is little doubt that the assistant secretary of state spared no effort to limit Jewish immigration to the utmost while it was still possible, and to scuttle any rescue projects during the crucial 1942-43 period." Reference is given to books by Henry L. Feingold writing in "The Politics of Rescue: The Roosevelt administration and the Holocaust". --Neil 21:01, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
