[edit] Merge

Maybe it's a good idea to merge this with something, but I don't think game mechanics is the right one. Dragon (Dungeons & Dragons) would be the obvious choice, but that page is pretty big and I've been trying to break it down a bit. - Peregrinefisher 03:17, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] importance

D&D breath weapons were, of course, based on myth/legend/literature--such as the iconic fire-breathing dragon; but D&D called them breath weapon, systemized them, & possibly came up with a few without precedence in myth/legend/literature. This systematic approach to breath weapons has surely had influence on video games (e.g. the fourth Spyro the Dragon) & fantasy literature. --71.145.188.110 06:25, 24 December 2006 (UTC)
