Brevik

Brevik is a town in Norway with a population of 2,700.
Brevik was established as a municipality January 1, 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). It was merged with Porsgrunn January 1, 1964.
Brevik is regarded one of the best preserved towns from the sailing ship era. The town is located on the far end of Eidangerhalvøya, and was a former export center for ice and timber. The last shipment of wood to the United Kingdom was around 1960.
Brevik is Cort Adeler's birth town.
