Bret Morrison

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bret Morrison (b. 5 May 1912; d. 25 September 1978[1]) was an American actor best known as the voice of The Shadow, old-time radio's mysterious crusader for law and order.

He was born in Chicago, Illinois.[2]

Morrison played the Shadow part longer than any other actor, spending 10 years in the role in two separate runs. He was also the final actor to play the part in the program's original radio run. For many, he was the definitive voice of The Shadow, though his delivery was much less sinister – and, some would say, less compelling – than his predecessor, Orson Welles.
