Brestovec (Hungarian: Szilas) is a village and municipality in the Komarno District in the Nitra Region of south-west Slovakia.

In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1327.

The village lies at an altitude of 110 metres and covers an area of 7.491 km². It has a population of about 490 people.

The village is about 97% Magyar, 3% Slovak.
