Brent Smedley, born January 14, 1971 in Alexandria, Virginia USA, is a heavy metal drummer who currently lives in Jacksonville, Florida, he plays drums in the Thrash/Power Metal band Iced Earth. He has also played in Tempest Reign but decided to quit the band in early 2007 to concentrate on Iced Earth only. Brent is also a very well-known drum instructor and currently teaches all over Jacksonville. Brent also played in the bands Odyssey and Oracle with musicians such as James MacDonough (former bassist for Iced Earth) and his brother Kent Smedley.
Brent has been in Iced Earth three times - from 1996 to 1997, 1998 to 1999, and again from October 2006 to present time.[1] Brent will tour with Iced Earth in 2007/2008 and record two albums that will be based on the "Something Wicked" story written by the band's rhythm guitarist Jon Schaffer.
