Career highlights

Brendan Murphy is an Aussie Rules player for the Sydney Swans and was a former minor Gaelic Athletic Association player for Rathvilly in County Carlow. He played for the Carlow minor football team and was on the team that lost the Leinster championship final to Laois in 2007. Following his performance that day, he was linked to a move to Australia to play Aussie rules football [1].

His final game in Carlow was in the U21 county championship final, which Rathvilly won by 0-5 to 0-2. Brendan scored Rathvilly's fifth point - a free from 40 metres out. [2]. In early November, Brendan left Ireland and made the journey to Sydney. [3].
